Soma

Enter the world of SOMA and face horrors buried deep beneath the ocean waves. Delve through locked terminals and secret documents to uncover the truth behind the chaos. Seek out the last remaining inhabitants and take part in the events that will ultimately shape the fate of the station. But be careful, danger lurks in every corner: corrupted humans, twisted creatures, insane robots, and even an inscrutable omnipresent A.I. You will need to figure out how to deal with each one of them. Just remember there’s no fighting back, either you outsmart your enemies or you get ready to run.

SOMA is a sci-fi horror game from Frictional Games, the creators of Amnesia: The Dark Descent. It is an unsettling story about identity, consciousness, and what it means to be human.

The radio is dead, food is running out, and the machines have started to think they are people. Underwater facility PATHOS-II has suffered an intolerable isolation and we’re going to have to make some tough decisions. What can be done? What makes sense? What is left to fight for?

Soma has an awesome storyline and is also an example of great game design. The world that they created here contains some cool concepts and well-designed gameplay mechanics. It is a highly immersive experience that keeps things interesting all the way through to the end.

(2015) Soma Gameplay Still

This game has a pretty dark sense of humor too. Throughout the game, you´ll be asked to do some questionable things and make some tough choices. Even though the situations are very dark the developers manage to present the funny side of how messed up everything is. The characters are also very likable which helps to balance out the heavy tone of the unfortunate circumstances that they find themselves in.

Soma is really a wonderful game, it has a perfect balance of interesting concepts, dark humor and scary moments. The ideas in this game feel pretty original too and it’s great to see such a fresh take on the Science Fiction genre. While even the more cliched, gamey moments are implemented in new and entertaining ways.

This game is definitely worth playing and I highly recommend it.
