During an exclusive tour, a power breakdown inside a secret prison known as the Death House sends two agents fighting through a labyrinth of horrors while being pursued by a ruthless army of roaming inmates. As they fight to escape, the agents push toward the lowest depths of the facility, where they learn a supernatural group of evil beings may be their only chance for survival.
Death House revolves around two special agents named Jae Novak (Cody Longo) and Toria Boon (Cortney Palm), who are touring a prison called ‘Death House,’ a virtual reality facility for the most extreme and hardened murderers, rapists and criminals. The facility place prisoners under various hallucinogens to be able to determine via the virtual environment exactly where they were before they became prisoners, and what happened to them that caused each one to commit the horrendous crimes they committed. While the two agents are touring a section of the prison, the power to the entire facility is suddenly and mysteriously cut off, which allows the prisoners to escape and take over the building, forcing everyone else, including the two agents, to run for their lives.
As the two agents are caught up in the survival race against the many advancing prisoners that are led by occultist Neo-Nazi Sieg, other evil monsters have also been freed from the dark depths of hell. As they fight their way through Death House, everything suddenly turns into a house of horrors, and their only hope of escape is descending right down into that hell and calling on the help of the Five Evils themselves. Everything culminates into a now violent face-to-face standoff with absolute evil, where the definitions of good and evil exist no longer.
Death House is a much anticipated Indie Horror film that will be released Friday, March 2nd, 2018. It is directed by B. Harrison Smith (Camp Dread) and written by horror actor, Gunnar Hansen, who is highly recognized for playing the role of the iconic Leatherface in the original ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.’ Other great mentions of the cast would be Kane Hodder, who is famous for playing killer roles such as Jason Voorhees in a few Friday the 13th films, and Victor Crowley of the horror film, ‘Hatchet’; Sid Haig and Bill Moseley, both from Rob Zombie’s ‘House of 1000 Corpses’ and ‘The Devil’s Rejects’; Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator); Dee Wallace (Cujo, E.T. the Extraterrestrial); Tony Todd (Candyman, The Crow), and Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes). Whew, wasn’t that a mouthful? And that’s not even the end of the list. There a whole plethora of other surprising horror film stars that are shown in smaller roles or cameo appearances throughout. So I think it’s safe to say that I was not going to miss this film for anything.
Death House will launch with a special media event and public opening that will feature nearly all of the cast and crew. Producer Rick Finkelstein is said to briefly speak before the first screening and is to dedicate the film’s launch to the memory of writer/actor Gunnar Hansen who passed away in November of 2015 shortly after completing the first drafted screenplay. The film will also open on March 2nd at the Stroud Mall in Stroudsburg, PA, and will feature a Sunday evening special event and presentation by director B. Harrison Smith.
I really liked this film, a lot. It’s awesome, different, and it’s exciting as hell to see many of my favorite horror actors appearing on screen together. I mean, nothing is cooler than that. The effects are top notch and on spot, and the music score for the 80’s hits fit perfectly. I’m a huge horror fan and I want horror films to give me an exciting and great time. and overall, this movie was a very fun ride and I had fun watching it.
